Just curious, are the heads from XD-F interchangeable? When I get my engine built I want to ditch the iron head, but I'd rather keep the XD block. I've also heard that the E-series crank goes in? What I want is the XF EFI manifold to run on gas, and I heard the intake and exhaust ports are different. Is all that right?

the alloy head will bolt on to you're block but you will have to make sure you check head chambers as i've seen 3 different chamber sizes from XD-XF. whickh if you get it wrong will cause TOO high a compression ratio even for gas. the later XD did come with an alloy head so maybe the piston dish and chambers in head stayed the same here. for the alloy head EFI manifold, i'm sure it will bolt up to an XD ALLOY head but won't have injector boss in the head(you wont need them on gas anyway) nver heard about E series crank but it wouldn't be too supprised. why would you do this mod??
