3.9l MPI badges. pic wanted?

Hi Guys,

I have just ordered two 3.9l MPI badges (red in colour) for the front gaurds from ford to finally finish of the mpi conversion. I payed $12 each for them which I thought was at bit excessive and I should get them by the end of the week. My ea falcon is stark white and I'm wondering whether anyone can post a pic of the exact factory location of these badges.

p.s. Soon commi drivers will know there is not just a crappy cpfi motor lurking under the bonnet but a decent 3.9l mpi engine. lol.. lol ..

Cheers Luke.

You paid $24 for badges made 15 years ago that are readily available?! Why didn't you just go to a wrecker? BTW, sorry I'm no help =D

All the ones at the wreckers are faded or cracked or bits missing. I looked at about 14 cars and they were all fuc?ed. Most were sun damaged and the only decent one i found was silver but the other one had already been taxed. Thats why i was pissed about paying $12 each for them but I want some nice badges because the paint on my car is immaculate. The car had a full respray just before i brought it 3 years ago.

Cheers Luke.

Most of my mates that drive commi's know the difference. They couldn't beleive that my car had a fuel injected carbie on top of the inlet manifold (CPI) when the 1984 VK commi had 202 fuel injection (multipoint). What were ford thinking really?????????

Cheers Luke.

Cost cuting, thats what they were thinking.

And, they fooled alot of people into thinking, "hmm, less injectors, must = less fuel useage".

As opposed to an injector per cylinder which allows for greater control and thus less fuel usage.

Yeah, I know if I were cruising along in my old VS and saw the MPI badges I'd think twice about taking you on

Well exactly my point, they would obviously know the difference, but what i meant was that alot of commie drivers prolly didn't know that EA came out with both CFI version and MPFI, hence they prolly wouldn;tlok twice if they saw MPFI written on the side

Re: 3.9l MPI badges. pic wanted?

i reckon they used the CFI rubbish as a sweetener after the xf as it wasted lotsa petrol, and then all of a sudden "better fuel economy", i put it to the shitty environmental crap that cars in aus needed to have around that era...
