93 f-250 acceleration problems

I have a 1993 F-250 4.9 I6 cyl. It rums good at idle and misses as you accelerate. It sounds like a plane running out of fuel, but the exhaust will burn your eyes. I have two put alcohol in the fuel to pass emission testing. I did a complete tune up plugs, wires cap and rotor to no avail. any ideas. thanks for the input

Naturally, check for codes, but it sounds like you may be burning rich or maybe a head leak. Check plugs for fouling (yes, I saw you changed them), fuel pressure, and cleaning the MAF sensor.
