Any one used the ACL race series pistons? They are lighter and look heaps stronger. Must rebalance bottom end etc due to lighter pistons, pin is lightweight too..
Another turbo being built in the family.
That leaves no n/a vehicles.. Except work Rodeo..

for a I6 i assume? gm destroya is using them in his big HP EA - he has a T72 i think - im sure he will correct me! -apparently the ACL Race series rebuild kits are good for up to 750hp - that should be enough?

Re: ACL race series pistons etc
for the inline six
they complete acl race series re-build kit will cost you 950 bucks rrp. (tho i got mine at trade for 635!!).
they are a high silicone alloy of hyuperuretic design. they are very lightweight and have proved to be very hardy in boost aplications (dispite what acl says).
the difference between forged pistons and the acl race series ones is some 1-2 sec of detonation and if ur cars detonating for that long you should go shoot eyour ecu tuner.
if its for the i6 grab the ea ones with the 11.3 cc dish in them to drop the compression in eb-el motors. but you'll have to get 20 thou oversize ea style pistons and have the block honed out 3 tho to accept the pistons.
(as the ea pistons are 17 thou smaller then the 4.0lt)
they have my vouch and i'm running them in the ea turbo
rolllin- its a turbonetics custom turbo garret t72 core (standard bearing) with a t76 exhaust wheels and housing (1.22 ar) with a t78 compressor cover and wheel.
visit the link below to veiw my pistons and what ever else is going on the turbo'd ea.

Re: ACL race series pistons etc
another advantage is that they have a cast-in oil drain holes (not drilled wich can weaken the piston skirt)

Re: ACL race series pistons etc
all your local shops should have them
repco has them i think as does cheapa auto spares and supercheap auto also has them.
all them sorts of places should stock the basic re-build kits but you'll have to order the race series kit in from acl.
but i do not know if the ba kit is available yet nick.
cheers.joe.
