Is there such thing as TOO much air flow?
I have an EA with a hornet scoop and i want to put a panel filter on top of the rocker cover then plumb it into the EF manifold/throttle body. I was thinking of a large one to seal up the scoop properly.
Anyone got any ideas. To be honest i don't really care to use my pod filter as it is very restrictive.

I have seen an EB XR6 with a pod under a hornet scoop, it had an EF BBM.

I have a pod on my MPFI manifold and the car and there is an extremely large performance gain when i run the car without it. I'm talking about 10-15kw. The car feels like i've been driving CFI compared to running MPFI.

I thought about twin filters but i'd prefer the panel. Maybe i could get something off a truck hehe!

You could built some sort of heat sheild/airbox around the pod?

I don't think so. Get as much in there as you can.

When you take the lid off your airbox and can see the panel.....i'm gonna use that bottom half and plumb the throttle body through the side.

Souinds like an idea Eatdust, but you will have to cou the airbox down a fair bit.
What size hornet scoop is it?

A hornet scoop is just the make of the bonnet scoop. It is twice the size of the shaker style scoop (height). Mine is the hi rise hornet scoop so it is 2" high at the back and 3" at the front. Do a search for the scoop and you'll get heaps of examples.
