Reading through the latest zoom magazine on page 29 there is a ad for BMC air filters and a dyno readout showing comparison against K&N and Standard Filters
The Standard filter returned 200.7 rwkw
K&N 200.8 rwkw
BMC 209.4 rwkw
The Dyno runs were performed at Herrod
I know bmc has a reputable following, but didnt realise that they flowed that much better than the worlds most loved filters (K&N)
I feel that there must be something else going on to have that much of a gain, netherless i am in the market for a new pod filter, and was going to purchase a k&N
Seeing this ad i will do some more research and get your opinions and depending on what you replys i may try the BMC Filter i think i may be able to purchase them cheaper through work
so let me know what you think

I have a K&N panel and i'm happy with it. To be honest I fail to see how an air filter can really make THAT much difference, i mean yes the more efficient they flow the better, but its still just a bloody air filter isnt it!
I have had K&N before and was happy with it, but if i can get an extra 9 kw for no effort (which i doubt) and for the same price or cheaper isnt it worth looking into- even a little

Well i'm not convinced that an air filter can make such a huge difference, in all honesty the only reason i have a K&N is because i like being able to clean it out and put it back in without going through heaps of paper filters - plus being in a country area i get loads of dust and crap all over the car.
BOSS engines have a pretty varied stock output though dont they?
thanks for that runrvs. You are still able to clean the bmc filters in the same way that you do a K&N

i find these figures just as hard to swallow as the SS induction claims.
Yes, me too, it would have been interesting to do a run with no air filter at all to compare.

What's that?..... Did I hear you say TQE power?
you will find that the engine will actually lose power without the air filter
Pretty unlikely, and it never has IME.
