Any advice with oil filters? (6cyl)

Just wondering whether anyone has used AC Delco oil filters and whether they're any good. What's the difference between a good and bad oil filter? What one do you use?

Cheers.

Re: Any advice with oil filters? (6cyl)

I use the cheapest filter in the closest shop at the time.
Don't waste money on expensive oil filters, use good (Penrite) oil and change it every 5000k's instead.

Ford motorsport $9.00 and they don't stuff around with the oil presure gauge like a ryco.

I've been using Rycos for donkeys years because they are most often the cheapest at under $6, I've never had an oil pressure gauge issue, and I doubt that any filter would.
Your gauge issue, was likely your gauge.

Rick.

Re: Any advice with oil filters? (6cyl)

karl told me that ryco filters are the main cause of ticking on startup - because their anti-drainback valves rarely work...

i know i'll be buying a better one this time round... and I change my oil every 5000kms anyway

I use to use ryco but my oil pressure gauge was playing up kept using them thinking it was the gauge, until I think it was karl that told me to use a Ford filter and it will fix it. Changed to the Ford Motorsport ones and have never had a problem since.

The Valvoline ones are cheap. Tis what I use, so therfore it must be good.

Their air and fuel filters work good too. :) If you want good filters go K&N. But it will cost ya, and it's pretty pointless from what i've heard and seen.

Cheers.
