I think you would be looking at some MAJOR work there. The variable cam timing mechanism might just prove to be hell to get working right. I may be wrong though
youd need all the AU computer, wiring and gear... probably a big task, honestly i dont think it wouldnt be worth the time, cost and effort put in... but i wouldnt kno for sure... can someone tell us otherwise???

I once fitted an AU computer to my EB. I did it by splicing the AU and EB computer looms together.
My advice is, if you go down this road, change the whole engine bay/dash/computer loom, possibly body as well, and modify plugs to fit. It'll be about 2 days job if you know how to use a soldering iron, and much easier than doing it the other way. I never could get it to work properly. I think some of the signal wires I soldered were designed to provide a certain resistance at the computer and the solder stuffed that up. It did run, but it ran so incredibly rich!
Also I believe the vct uses oil pressure from the engine, but perhaps somebody else will have a bit more detail on that.

the vct runs differnt front pullys, different belt, different shourd, it runs an external oil line.... heaps of other stuf, i would def not recoment doing it.. better of working the head combo you have now

The vct has a different power steering bracket which the extra pulley bolts to, all the other pulleys are the same. The head will bolt straight on using the same timing chain etc. the oil line taps in where the oil switch is, exactly the same as the ba xr6 turbo same adapters and all, you will need the vct rocker cover, loom and computer all the internals, manifolds etc are the same as standard au.
hope this helps

It sounds like a good idea but even though all the basic hardware will bolt together getting it to work will be a battlle fiddiling with lots if little things and then the power gains are likely to be less than a regrind cam.
Even for $300 a nargain at that without all the brackets and lines and ecu etc etc its not going to be easy and then what do you get 4 more fwk than an XR6!
