hi, can someone with a workshop manual give me the stroke and big end diameter please for a BA 6 Cyl? i think i may have thought of a way to get around the cast sump issue so i can squeeze one of these engines into my cortina. if someone has a pic of the bottom end with the sump removed i'd even consider being thier best friend :)

have u looked in buying one ? how much are the charging u ? what do u get for your money ?
are u worried bout the back where the box bolts on cause u can just chop that off
i don't think u wouldn't be able to put a steel sump on as they look to have 4 bolt mains 2 in the bottom and 2 throught the sides of the caps (that bold through the sump)

cthawes..... no i havent looked into buying one yet. that isnt the issue at the mo. however i did see one not so long ago at a local wrecker for $7000 with trans and when ii enquired about it he told me i could have the harness's, ecu etc(everything i need for a conversion) included for the price.

i wasnt worried about the bolts at the back. that wont be the problem as the cortina has the oil pickup bowl at the back anyway. the issue i have is that falcons have the bowl at the front and if i want to do the conversion i need to find a way to change that. i know the mains are supported thru the side of the sump but i think i have found a way to modify the alloy sump so the engine will fit a cortina.

i've already got an ED 4.0L in a corty now but i wanna go one better - something really different.

gee $7000 if i know i would got this one at my wreckers for $2400 for the lot it must of been the cheapist one around as it went all the way over to NZ

2400? thats a good price. if i was gonna go to the trouble i would go the whole hog and stick a turbo engine in which the price was referring to. it also only had about 40,000 clicks on it.

and i thought that was a reasonable price. hmmm u live and learn
