BA6T in ef

hey guys
im looking at buying a ba xr6t motor in the coming months and was wondering if anyone had a rough idea of the cross member, i know the auto brackets are the same and that it wont fit under bonnet due to the larger head/rockercover but i plan to run a dry sump setup anyway. Other things such as ecu, piping, cooler etc.. i have already sorted out
which leaves mounting
will i need to have a custom cross member made up to match the ba engine mounts?
i know of one el xr6 with a ba motor but it has a hole in the bonnet were the rockercover pops out and i dont want this as i want to retain the sleeeper effect
any help would be greatfull

A bit of work but you could run an AU K frame/ front suspension setup

apparently it does not fit, the new head fouls on the firewall....

You've obviously priced the BAXR6T motor. How much is it???
Where abouts are you sourcing it from.

hi' i'm interested to know what theory u have come up with for the ecu? i've done abit of research and found that the PCM controls everything from the engine/trans to the traction control to the brake light switch and even the interior light. it has approx 150 fault codes so i assume that it has a lot of wiring and sensors all over the car.

are you going to wire in the whole lot or have u found a way around it?

TD Cortina ED XR6 Engine, T5, 9inch, Boyd billets, 4 wheel disc etc
AU XR6 - All the usual goodies not worth bragging about

my only option for a engine swap is to run a standalone ecu, but to do this i will have to fit a cable throttle body this in turn would require a custom plenum chamber which i have someone designing one up for me and a friend with a ba xr6t ute already, i could also run a piggy back and have it reconfigured but the tunner i use knows motecs like the back of his hand, therfore with a cable he can tune it perfectly. mind you this is still in the development stages, have to go look at the motor first and so on.

This will be a very expensive project, but fkn awesome at the same time. How about just turboing your original I6? It'd work out heaps cheaper?

I know one of my friends is putting BA non turbo engine in a El and he has got a BA xr8 bonet with a bit of damage and cut out the bulge and migged it onto the el bonet doesn't look to bad, but you will loose the sleeper effect to an extent.

Has he bought the engine yet? How much did he pay for it? How much heavier are the BA I6's compared to the EL one? Wouldnt it disturbed weight distribution?

How much did he pay for the engine? I thought the BA I6's are heaps heavier compared to the EL one? Wouldnt it disturb weight distribution?
