bbm conversion - Exactly what is needed
i should be doing a bbm conversion this weekend and was wondering what exactly is needed for the bbm conversion
so far im pretty sure i need.
bbm manifold
eecV ecu
compatible airbox and tubingg (ef)
is there anything else i need?
about isntalling the eecV do i just need to take the old ecu out and put the new one in or do i have to rewire.
i here the eecv from the early ef had the same amount of pins as the eec4 so should i source one of them.

Re: bbm conversion - Exactly what is needed
Firstly, if you are changing the ecu, I assume you have smartlock. If not, it wont work, and you will need to either fit smartlock, or use an rpm switch to activate the runners. If you do have smartlock, then you will need the eec-v from an el, as the ef is set up to run coil pack, and wont work with the dizzy set up.
As for what you need:
BBM, inc all sensors
Fuel rail/injectors/reg
EF/el fuel lines (they have a screw on fitting), but you will probably need to lengthen them a bit to reach the filter etc
Air box (needs a slight bit of modding to fit some cars) and tubbing (try to get el, as it flows better than ef)
Oil dipstick
ALL vacum hoses
vss switch (make sure you get the plug with it)
As far as i know, you need to add an extra wire to the computer if you use the eec-v, to switch the runners.

I'm still running the EEC-IV with an RPM adjustable switch for the runners.

Yeah I think the best way to go is the standard EEC-IV ECU with an RPM switch. Much, much easier.

Wish I could help you with that much detail but I didn't actually put it on, so....
Sorry

How the hell do you get the fuel hose off from the metal fuel lines? Tried today on an EL but they wouldn't budge.
Also, what did you do about the heater hose?

For the fuel lines, cut the base connectors off. If you need to extend them, just put a joiner in, with extra hose.
As for the heater hoses, i had lpg at the time, so we just ran new heater hoses to suit, so i cant really help you with that one.
