Hay guys, I recently fitted an EB motor and four speed auto into an XE and was wanting to convert it to a BBM. I was just wanting to know if the BBM would fit under the bonnet, the point of concern is between the top of the manifold and the underside of the bonnet. Has anyone fitted a 4.0 with a BBM to a XD – G?

The other thing I was chasing info on was fitting EL thermo fans to a XG radiator?

The thermos will go straight on.
With the BBM, you would be best to see if you can borrow one, and do a test fit.

soxx has fitted a BBM to his XG ute.

Soxx has a XH ute with full E-series crossmember/engine location etc.

Engine is the same, but the XH has a higher bonnet.

...and the engine and crossmemebr are designed to go together and place the engine in a reasonable position. Fitting the 4.0l EFI donk to the XD,E,F,G engine bay with it's welded in crossmember places the engine slightly offset and possibly at a different height in the engine bay.

Thanks for the input guys but to trial and error fit the BBM is a lot of work if only to find out the manifold doesn’t fit. There must be some one who has tried such a conversion and knows for sure whether the BBM fits in the XD - G

Just measure up a BBM from a wrecker.

They fit under the bonett of a TE cortina, i have one here that has been modded to fit a Xflow using the initial part of the Xflow efi manifold. I hope it fits on my xf ute :) i have been meaning to do a dummy fit.

It will fit with no problems, the only issue is that you can't run the intake pipe past the shock tower. I'll see if I can find some pictures of the VCT in my XF
