Ive gotta change my belt soon and Ive heard of people adjusting the cam belt one tooth forward for more top end power..

Has anyone tried this or know if its worthwhile. Does it confuse the ECU? I am game to try it when im changing my belts, but I don't exactly want to have to change it back..

Im guessing it would be a bit like varible cam timing when it advances the cam forward? Good/bad for fuel economy?

Advancing cam = better low end at cost of top end
Retarding cam = better top end at cost of low end
