Any one had experience putting a cam into an EF/EL. If so did you have any probs with computers/idle etc. What cam is best to use, I cam considering Crow stage 3 - but have been told it will mess up the idle as pretty bad. Another option is the Tickford cam which apparantly doesnt bother the computer/idle too much.

i am gettin a jim momck cam put in at the moment.....pickin car up tomorrow....tell ya then how it went.

Guy said that idle might be a bit lumpy but i am going dev 3 hl kit so shouldnt be too bad for me......we'll c tho. He said u need a computer to get rid of all those problems.

HAs got 3 of the wade profiles on there.
Hopefully ill get the 1004-114 high lift in the not to distant future :)
For 200 its a bargin!

They should run pretty well with out chips aswell

Id go for a wade cam but based on cost

I've got a stage 2 in the ol' crate with out a computer, and it idles a little lumpy, but I quite like it, and it's definitely not enough to make me spend $1000 on a chip. To start off with it'll be pretty rough, but the computer learns it pretty quick and all will be good. Obviously you'll need a chip to get it running optimally, but until you save up enough money you can still put in the stage 3 cam and have no real dramas, other than obviously lumpy idle, and if you have an exhaust it'll sound real good.

Oh and one more thing, I wouldn't bother with the tickford cam, it's like not even a stage 1 of a crow cam for example. As far as I know the ED XR6 cam and the EF/EL cams are like pretty much the same.

i have a stg 3 crow. went really good with a chiptourque chip that i got in a package with it.
Then i put a wild head on it and it has turned to shit.
But tonight i tune my new ecu.
So should be runnign good again soonish.
