TO make an EFI setup fit a carby setup is it absolutely necessary to swap the head or can i just swap the manifold, injectors and other electrical bits?
Cos i just spent about $1700 on my head and am now thinking of the turbo route and want to use my current head.
Is this a big job?

if your head has the provision in the ports for the injectors it should be fine to use.

If i was going the turbo route i would look more at straight LPG using the efi intake manifold, rather than running efi though

I read in another thread about LPG and turbo that you dont really know what your getting with LPG anymore and most bowsers offer extreme differences in the LPG mixture and this can wreck a turbo system. And as my car isnt already fitted with a tank it may work out similar to use EFI and an aftermarket computer if sourced properly.

I was thinking if i could just fit an EFI manifold then i could change the injectors and run a motech or similar computer.I could do this now as this would compliment the headwork and cam i have just had done more than a simple carb (wouldnt it?), and later when i get the cash to get the bottom end redone and turbo fitted all i will have to do is adjust the computer to cope.

Is this a silly idea?

The carby & EFI Heads are different and you will need to use an EFI Head to run the EFI. The code for the carby heads start with C, are are usually C2 or C2A for the unleaded carby heads. EFI heads begin with the letter E. These codes stamped on the inlet side near No. 1 port.

I wonder how hard it would be to rig up an injector system to a carby head then. Could i somehow use the redline 4bbl manifold i have.
