how hard is it? im keen to tackle it as it seems to be a simple procedure. or am i dreaming cos i really dont have a lot of experiance.

easy as pie.. You need a 24mm (i think) and a 13mm spanner to release and tighten the nut on the alternator bracket/tensioner

ok good. i just got back from autobarn, had to order the belts in cos they were sold out after that weekend sale thing they had. but ive got them on order as well as 6 new NGK Iridium spark plugs. might do it all after work one night.

You have to take the power steering belt off first to get to the alternator belt, and the way you undo the bolts is the opposite. You first loosen the 24mm nut, then adjust tension with a 13mm spanner to remove belt on the p.s. On the alt. belt, you first loosen the 13mm bolt, then adjust tension with the 24mm. Installation is reverse. Make sure the alt. belt is quite tight, otherwise it will squeal- the multiribbed belts are known for this.

i use a 15/16th's spanner as it is a better fit than the 24mm in my experience. just cut the old belts off and slide the new ones over the clutch fan. i also like to degrease my engine before doing stuff like this as you will be alot cleaner when youve finished.
