How hard is it to change the starter motor on a XG ute? Mine just died and I need to get it fixed on the weekend.

As hard as an EA i guess, pretty simple did mine.

disconnect battery
climb underneath car
disconnect wires to starter
undo 2 bolts holding starter (warning heavy little sucker)
shove new one up there
everything else reverse

Simple - undo the wire thats on the solenoid and there should be only 2 bolts going into the bellhousing of the gearbox. Also remember to disconnect the battery.

I changed mine in my XF, and it was fairly easy, just two bolts holding it to the bell housing and one nut holding the positive wire onto the starter. 15minute job.

Thanks for the help guys did it over the weekend, only took about 30min, no thanks to that top bolt being in a hard to access place. Starter works fine now.
