Anyone know if the ChipTorque HP3/4 camshaft will fit the ED using the standard EEC4 ??? Also anyone know the grind specs ??? thanks

They are crow cams. HP4 is crow stage 3 + chiptorque.

No they are supposed to be surecam cams. The specs of the HP3 used to be 205deg@050" 114LSA. A cam grinder on the Gold Coast used to grind this cam for them.

I may be wrong. Originally Kelford Kams were doing this grind a long time ago, when chiptorque started these kits. The grind was actually made by Phil Duggan who know owns Sure Cams. I was given the impression that the cam grinding went to Sure Cam seeing that Phil is a pro at generating custom masters.

sure cams do the cams for chiptorque or that match the chiptorque setup, i just got a custom regrind AU Billitcam from surecam to suit an HP4 chip wich is programable its not plug and play

reason i ask is that they said the grind had 0.520" lift and said the standard springs were fine. said people round the GC r still running the cam with no probs but Crow want u to buy 7739 springs for their cam with only 0.480" lift ??? WTF !!!

There are a few intresting points about springs

Crow Claim XR6 springs are good to arround 0.600"
JMM suposidly claim XR6 spings are stock springs painted red

make of that what you will. I was also advised by wade that i cant gomuch bigger than 480" lift without changing springs. Id change them as a safety measure, last thing u want is hydraluic valve float at 5500rpm and 600++" lift

So true. No-one really tells u the truth anymore. I'm sure XR8 springs r marginally stiffer by 10%. Cam still uses same lift but bit more duration on the exhaust. I though similar to an EA cam. My mechanic old me OHC engines don't need as much seat pressure cos of the design not like an old pushrod engine. Anyway cheap set of springs is cheap insurance ehh !!! What r 7739 worth rrp ??? Heard PRE and Perf Springs r also good. Any prices ???
