Its happened to me again......after meeting Casper today and JonBays I have decided to do it again.......Ive hit cold Turkey!!!!!

So for those who are interested in my instruction on cam installation just post here and I will take you through every step and sticking point to install a cam and hopefully no wreck your engine!!

I have realised what a monster the dev 4 is and the great credit to Jim Mock motorsport for their great cam..

Lastly take my advice at your own risk.

yes continue! i might be getting a new cam soonish.. well wont be until early next year and if its not too difficult i might have a go at doing it myself this time.

Ok...Iwill make a write up of what I have done and send it to Casper so that everyone can benefit from the knowledge and not get lost in threads with time..Should be going to au falcon .com soon.If I get a chance I will take a few snaps too.

Haahha...I can do a standard cam swap in 45 minutes...but not regrind.The story will take a bit longer

hm HEy useless dont forget to mention the correct way to lock and un lock the chain tensioner, this is the MAIN place where a cam change is succesfull or a flop, it all happens with the chain tensioner,
And dont forget to tighten the cam bolt up

So true....and the other place where I may have screwed up last tme was over advancing my cam..Heck I think these are all patchy areas for the beginner.

for the beginner, id recomend not getting an adjustable gear... and not worriing about advancing or re-tarding cam

don't you need the adjustable gear to dial the cam in to the right specs? (i don't even know how the gear works so i dunno). i already have the adjustable gear in.
