dont forget JMM stuff is designed to run with a stock comp, better gains could be achieved by using a chip as well.
get your engine rebuilt with an ACL race series rebuild kit, get it all balanced etc, get the head ported big time and get a custom cam, bigger than DEV 5, use XR6 valves (they are 2mm bigger than stock i think) and get a chip to make it all work, plus a fairly high stallie, 2700 or higher? 3000rpm? set it all up so it makes peak power right up near the redline and then cross your fingers, you might have to loose some weight from the car as well.
joe (gm destroya) is building up a very highly worked EA turbo at the moment, the shop he is getting eveything machined has ported out an AU head to flow 370hp for him, and he is getting a cam that holds 14" of mercury at idle (below what a stock comp will run) it is a custom grind for turbo application, but im sure the shop could help you out with a N/A cam that will be as good or better for N/A.
i think that the porting he has had done would be about $1k labour to anyone else, they are using his head as a test and developement one.
you might be able to do it, but bidget a lot of dyno time and you will definately need a big stallie.
