with the money you would spend on a DEV 6 you can turbo charge you 6. You get better drivability, can run a boost controller to adjust different levels of boost, and overall you will be much happier. A 6 psi turbo kit will increase your power approx 50%. It is a little more stuffing around to setup but give a couple of people a call and make some enquiries. If you want to do it cheaper you can probably source a fair few parts yourself. A guy on performance forums was selling a T04 for $1800, that saves you about 1000 straight up. Good Luck.

You could however that has its own issues. There is no doubt a good turbo setup will give far more power than a NA setup and, dollars to KW is probably the way to go if you are after the ultimate setup but, as with everything, there are other things to consider.
Firstly, a turbo is not as easy to hide as a modified NA engine. So if asked to pop the hood you dont have to worry about the Police giving you a free (or not so free) trip to the EPA testing station.
Also, the cost of turboing a car is often very understated. It can be done cheap but, as is often the case, this brings its own problems that can often be expensive to resolve.
Finally, not everyone wants to go turbo. As in my case, the car is a daily driver and I do not want the fuel bills or the "explosive" launch a turbo setup can provide.
Agreed, turbos can be fun but they dont suit all situations.

Casper,
I agree with your opinion, not everyone wants a turbo car, however if everything is done correctly with Mod plates there should be no drama. I would be very interested to see the DEV6 kit and Turbo kit on a falcon both go to the EPA as the DEV 6 kit runs a big big cam and high compression so no doubt quite alot of fuel. The mild kits from JMM are very good and would not use alot of fuel however useless was asking about DEV6 in particular.
Just out of curiousity what is the approx cost of a DEV6 kit????
A dev 6 wont pass EPA, its not ment to, its a race engine.
I also agree that a turbo car can pass an EPA test however, to do so, it would have to be engineer certified which can add a bit to the cost of installing it.
Either way, its going to be an expensive exercise.
As for Dev 6 cost, that all depends on just how far you want to go with it. Its basically a customised engine to the clients needs.
