I did a diagnosis on my ea mpfi and i got codes 12 & 13 which is a faulty ISC, i went to the wreckers and got another one but now its coming up with codes 12, 13 , 16 are ISC a common prob and would it make the car shudder on idle.

12 - ISC solenoid

13 - ISC soleniod

16 - ISc soleniod

Why dose the computer have three codes for the same thing?

dose the computer have to be reset after a fault has been repaired?

Clear the error codes from the computer.
If you don't ... next time you check for something wrong, the problems you've already fixed will still be in there

On this subject, I am having some idling problems with my 89 EA 6 MPFI 3.9L

I want to use the ECU error codes to help me track the problem down (I can discuss the specific problem if anyone likes).

In the manuals, it says to use a multimeter or LED to read of the codes. I have the stock standard circuit testers you get from any auto store. Are they okay to use?
