I'm replacing the timing gear in my '95 E-250 with the 4.9 ltr I-6. Have never seen a vehicle so difficult to take apart. My latest and most difficult component to remove is the harmonic balancer. What the heck is holding that dude on. There appears to be some kind of adhesive at the retainer plate (graded washer @ bolt) preventing me from breaking the grip of the bolt. I know its got a pretty substantial torque setting. But sheesh! It won't budge. Have used 3/4" breaker bars, impact drivers... won't budge. Any info would be helpful.

I am not familiar with your vehicle, but a method that may work is disable the spark ( so the engine wont start ) , and put a socket handle agains the chassis ( with a block of wood ) and use the starter to loosen it.
