Well I just finished doing timing chain and headjob on my parents car, and took her for the "test drive", did about 2 laps of the block... and suddenly the temp guage started to sky rocket, argh! Got it home when the temp guage was about 4/5ths.
Anyways I undid the radiator cap, and I could hear a shitload of bubbling noises, and other strange sounds. Uhh Ohh I'm thinking... my first failed headjob!!
Well I let it cool down a bit, then took it for another drive... this time temp guage got up about halfway, then it started to drop again! Woohoo!!! And it hasn't gone over halfway now.
So either the thermostat was seized because it was left dry for a week and a half, and now started working again, or I had an air lock in the system somewhere. If anyone here does a headgasket change make sure you air bleed the system properly and that the thermostats working, otherwise you may have the drama I did.
