Dow Corning heat sink and leads

Howd Pilgrims,

Bought some Top Guns for the Fairmont today. The manual says to apply some Dow Corning Heat Sink Compound 340 to the inside of the spark plug high tension lead boot.

Should I bother? Any opinions?

Cheers,
G.

Yes; or use similar products that Repco etc sell, particularly if the metal in the lead terminals is different from that in the plug terminals or distributor cap (as it usually is). It stops the corrosion that will otherwise form.
