Hey ppl,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. Im tossing up between a 4 barrel carby conversion or a draw - through turbo system. I was wondering wat u guys think would be better for a power increase but maintain reliablilty at the same time.
Can anyone give me any info on the whole draw-through turbo conversion?? wat turbo u recommend and things i need to buy and things i need to take into account etc..
My motor is the 4.1L Alloy Head Carby Falcon Motor (XF Ute)

Can i ask why you havent looked at a straite gas turbo setup? Theyre pretty simple too, and make an intercooler possible

I'd go for the turbo. There's no way you can get the benefits from a 4-bbl on the 4.1 that you would on a V8 -- the only way to improve your carburetion would be twin or triple side-draft and they're bitches to set up. Mind you, triple Webers and twin-pipe exhaust does move people! Sad about the ECU though.

Make sure your turbo is waste-gated -- I'm sure EVERYONE does that these days, but... You need to ensure your oil system is in VERY good shape. Actually, make that the entire motor. The little turbine in the exhaust sytem really screams around in an ultra-hostile environment and needs all the lubing it can get!
