just cracked the head in my ea just wondering if there are any later models that have the same size head so that it can bolt straight on to existing block with no implications or adjustments needed? eg the ef head ?

The EF head will bolt on, but I understand you will lose compression therefore the car will be a bit slower.

its true you will lose a bit of compression but the inlet ports on an ef head are much bigger therefore it will take more advantage of your inlet setup better for multipoint though and while the head is off you can put a nice cam in it. but a stock ef one will make it go better anyway because it has more lift than ea. get a complete head with rockercover from a wreckers because the ea rockercovers and rockers are not compatable with ef heads.
