Hey there!

A little over view. I've had this car for years now, and also viewed and posted on this site as Jakobi serveral times.. I have read alot more than I replied to however..

Anyway, my problem is as follows... Say I am sitting on the high way doing 110km/hr and I want to over take, I pull out and throw the foot to the floor, and as long as I can remember the auto would kick back to third, lifting the car right into the rev range and it would hook along. These days even with foot to the floor it simply builds up speed in 4th..

I have also noticed that kick down to second won't happen unless if i'm doing under 60km/hr and that in any gear with the foot flat it decides to shift up gear around 3500-4000rpm at the best..

I have checked the throttle cable and it still opens the throttle body to WOT when the pedal is completely down.. Its got me lost :S

Any suggestions?

Also, if possible.. Could you guys/gals post and let me know around what revs does your gearbox kick down a gear? Obviously this is aimed at those who also have the BTR gearbox.. Cheers

maybe give the auto a service and see what happens sometimes there will just be a bit of crap in the filter and it can reduce the oil flow and cause the auto to do funny things!

as for what gear my gearbox drops back to its at my descretion as i am manual!
maybe something you should look at!

Get a gauge and Check your Idle vacuum. you may have a small leak.

I think vacuum pressure might play a large. Also it's worth getting the auto gearbox serviced once a year I'm told. Also a dead alternator gave me poor spark, which meant no power and maybe it's just me but it wouldn't kick back as well as I remember, but with new alternator it changes back fine again.
