Hey Guys,

My EBII 4.0L is blowing a bit smoke when under full throttle. It only does it if I've been driving normally for a few days then, mash the go pedal for some reason. The longer it goes without being floored, the worse the smoke is when it does get floored. It's kinda embarrasing when trying to toast a commy with a trail of smoke spewing out! I don't think there's anything major wrong, it's not using much if any oil, certainly no more than it should, it's got plenty of power and nothing sounds a miss. It's about to hit 152,000k's with me being the 3rd owner. The first owners being Bankstown Trotting Society (only driven by officials at race meetings apparently) and the second owners were and old couple who traded it in for a pulsar, the car has full all service receipts. I've recently had a 2.5in cat back exhaust put on, but i'm pretty sure it was doing it before i got it and that was over 1000k's ago. Anyway what do you guys reckon?

Probably just carbon? What colour is the smoke?

It's a grey colour. I'm pretty sure it's not oil. Any ideas on how to stop it??

if its grey, its fuel, and under full throttle, is normal,
If there is NO smoke on full throttle (grey / black) then you may have problems (running lean)

I wouldn't say normal exactly.....
How much? Clouds, or just a trail?
I would suggest the usual things - check all vacuum hoses, TPS, MAP, and O2 sensors.

I wouldn't say clouds but a decent trail. It depends when the last time I put my foot down was. It's plain as day obvious in the rear view mirror anyway.

Get yourself a LED and 1/4 watt 560 ohm resistor.
This is the makings for a test light. Look through your manual to find how to assemble it, how to read it, and what the computer codes are/mean.

Probably just shit carbon buildup in the exhaust your blowing out.
