Question EB I6 power figures

Does anyone have a scan of a Ford brochure or Wheels/Motor article that has power and accelleration figures for non XR EB I6? I am trying to (still) settle an argument with a "fullysickVL" owner, need I say more. People here have previously given me links to websites showing this info but this guy reckons he knows better.

Oh, and the same thing for a VL Turbo would be handy too.

Either post here or e-mail falchoon351@hotmail.com

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen. It said, 'Parking Fine.'So that was nice.

your EB has 145KW from memory and 341NM of torque. I'm pretty sure a stock VL turbo has 150KW. (but at least your car doesn't use a motor from another company)

4.0litre MPEFI engine is 148Kw im sure, if thats what it is, the 3.9's either efi, cfi or god knows what are considerably less.

Best wishes

From memory the 3.9 had 136kw in multi point.{I stand corrected} Back in those days the magazine's put the 3.2 throttle body[now not produced] Ford up against the v6 V.N.The reason was they are what both co's called standard motor, base models. They knew the 3.9 multi point would beat the V.N.Back then Holden was not traveling very well..The mag's wouldn't favour Holden? Would they?? They havn't changed!!!It was even on T.V how good the new V6 went over the Ford.Again it was 3.2 against 3.8...

The VL turbo would beat any Ford back then Low 15's for 1/4 mile..E.A I think in the 17's but they had 3 speed in early ea's when these comparo's were done...

Don't be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the Ark...Professionals built the Titanic!

Ok EB Series 1 had two engines:
3.9 Cfi 120kw and 320Nm
3.9 Multipoint 139kw and 338Nm.

EB Series 2 had the one engine:
4.0L Multipoint 148kw and 348Nm coupled with a 3.27 diff they went pretty well.
EB2 0-100 was 9.3 secs 1/4's 16.8secs.

A VL Turbo had 150kw's and 296Nm. A Calais Turbo model was tested and done 0-100km/h in 7.8 and 1/4's 15.5.

It should be noted that an EA S multipoint in a 5 speed could match the VL commo's acceleration times.

All these data were taken from Wheels mag.
