EB I6 to V8 Crossmember - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Swapping an I6 to a 5.0 Windsor in an EB and want to know if the crossmembers are the same. Ford List the Part numbers as being different, but they also list a different part number for the I6 between EB/ED/EF/EL - Go Figure.

Any one done this before, or know if there is a diff between the 6 and 8 crossmember��

I am certain there is a difference. That's about all I know on the topic. I would be interested to know how you go with this as I plan to do the same thing later on in my DA.

Yep, its actually the K Frame that is different - bolt in stuff.

Look under your car and you will see a frame running under the engine, usually painted grey its referred to as a K Frame as its shaped like a K :)

thanks for that, will check it out. Also, do you know if the gearbox crossmember mounts will need to be modified, or does the K-Frame align the v8 in the right position.�

Gearbox crossmember mounts dont need to be changed just the K frame, and I have done the conversion

Best bet is an EL K-member and engine mounts. Bolts straight in.
