eb mpfi conversion

hi everyone

i got a 4 speed EB series 1 just changed from cfi to mpfi including the fuel pump but running on the CFI ecu and dizzy. my car is having difficulties idling, i already did the timing and adjusted the base idle speed and hooked up the ISC solenoid, but to no avail. Also it has a delay at about 1800rpms when you try to accelerate, it will just sit on the same spot and not want to accelerate anymore for about 10 seconds then it will go real hard, you back off and the same thing happens!!! I can't work out what it is does anybody know if you have to change the ecu to a multipoint one??

Did you use the MPFI inlet gasket? The CFI one fits but has no cutouts for the injectors.

id think you would need to use a multi point ecu

EB FALCON
98 T5 gear box (was auto)
Wade 977b cam
3.7 lsd
AU bottem end
ELXR6 ported Head
PH4480 Pacemakers

Um i agree with injected,

No way your car will run right without the MPFI ECU.

Should be able to pick one up for around the $40 mark

yeh i did change the gasket to an MPFI one, im guessing its just the computer but other people on these forums have said they used the CFI ecu thats why im stumped - what about the dizzy is the CFI one allrite for the MPFI conversion?

You will 110% need the MPFI ecu or it wont work properly
Dizzy should be fine with CFI

ok thanks ill put in the multipoint ecu and see how it goes and let you know but is there different ecu's for the 3 and 4 speed autos?

you need the mpi dizzy the ecu and the mpi inlet manifold gasket or it will not run properly driver:
