EB vs VN

Hey guys
Would a stock EB 4.0 6 Falcon beat a stock Vn v6?

My friend just got a vn and it goes pretty hard but they came with 127kw standard, the eb comes with around 150 right? so the EB should win?

just wanted to know coz im buying an EB - EF and i wanna kick his ass!

Re: EB vs VN

Unfortunately the VN's (auto) are quicker off the mark. Give him a rolling race and the EB should win then. (thats my experience anyway).

Re: EB vs VN

Sure way to win is to get a manual. The VN autos have a kiler 1st gear. I used to race my mate's VP auto in my auto EF all the time and those were pretty close races. Usually the car in the "better mood" won.

I think an EB should do pretty well, as long as it's a multipoint.

Re: EB vs VN

Power isn't everything - you need to look at power to weight, gear/diff ratios etc. Though I would think that the EB would 'win'.

Re: EB vs VN

well auto eb, vs auto vn, the vn will win because as said before they are quicker taking off. a rolling start would be pretty close though.

Re: EB vs VN

The Commodore had a better gearbox. It will win, stock auto to stock auto.
A few little mods, on the other hand....the Falcon responds much better to mods than the Commo and the manual is better too IMHO:s6:

Re: EB vs VN

I wouldn't say the TH700 was a "better" gearbox.
With cars that old, like I said, it depends a lot on what "mood" the car's in, so I'd give any car ur planning to buy a fang first to make sure its feeling well.

Look around for an eb series 2 if you are after an eb. They are touch and go with the vn 0-100 in my experiences (this is in my fathers station wagon v vn sedan). Eb series 2 and on have the 4.0 litre fuel injected motor and a far more sophisticated auto transmission (i think it is all electronic computer controlled). But if you really want to show your mate up, get a manual and kick his arse. (When you learn how to change the gears properly - it counts)

Re: EB vs VN

yeah just make sure you get a manual. Then you should be able to beat a VN (man or auto). if you get a previous model to EB2 just make sure its got mpfi and you'll be sweet.
