Having a problem with my eb 4.0l. A while back it started to over fuel down low in revs and was ok at high revs. Though a fuel regulator. changed that, it still over fuels and won't start. though maybe map sensor or vac hose to map sensor, changed map sensor, new hose. When I pulled the spark plugs out they where wet "plugs are new" dry them out putm back in and I just get it to start all be it at about 1500rpm, for about 1min, sounds retarded but timing ok "static timed". this engine was rebuilt 2000k ago and was going like a shower of shit.
Put it on the diagnostic computer KOEO came up ok, no problems
also changed water temp sensor!
try anything
any help apreciated, the wife getting the shits, oh so am I

make sure your battery terminals and the earth strap contacts are clean and tight for a start.

check the rotor button, and cap to make sure they are working properly.

are all the plugs wet or just a couple?

check the 02 sensor as well -if you have a mate with a falc swap them for a bit and see what happens.

I put in a new dissy and coil during the rebuild. At the start all the plugs where wet now its the back half and have a mis that can move from start to start. I have also put in a new fuel pump just after the rebuild

forgot to say the O2 sensor is near new (couple of months)
the pics are of the car in question, also any one know what the mags from? bought em on ebay some time back.
the suzuki is what we have to drive now

think i may have found it. fuel pump may have a faulty relief valve giving a high delivery pressure. what threw me was its a new pump!
get a new one tomorrow and will keep u posted

well changed the fuel pump sounded much better than the other "new" one, but still a no go, so i got hold of another ECU whoo it goes!!!!
bit low on idle and diagnostics says the HEGO is sencing its a bit rich, BUT IT GOES.

Did you allow a few minutes for the HEGO to warm up? They will always be rich when cold.

the engine was warm it was just that it was clogged up from running rich
gave it a good run and a few good squrits to clear it out
goes like a shower of s--t
very economical if you just plod along
