hi,
im looking for a 5 spd ef falcon but have found it extremely hard to find one so i'm thinking of just getting an auto and performing a 5 spd conversion myself. i have a spare workshop and the required tools to do this conversion but i would like to know if its possible, how hard it is, whats required and if its an expensive conversion.

hey bro!.... ive had my EF fairmont i6 converted from 4 spd auto to 5spd t5 manual... goes like da clappers! I dont know your location... im in cherrybrook sydney... I got my car converted at "Macarther parts" A specialist in late model fords... They used second hand box,clutch,ecu.. just make sure u opt 4 a brand new heavy duty clutch and a new cable.. when doing the conversion..my second hand clutch only lasted 5 monthes.. with no burnouts! the conversion price was $1650 drive in auto< drive out manual 4 hours later... i owned my car for 1.5 years auto and have had the manual 5 months and the conversion is definatly worth the price... my cars fun to drive now!!!!!!

to put the new pedal box in is a pain in the ass cos you have to pull the dash forward a few inches to get the pedal set in and that job is fiddly!!!
It also helps if you have a hydraulic hoist as it makes it easier to get under the car to drop the auto down and to lift the 5 spd into place... I watched the 5 spd conversion on my car being done and theres no way i could have done it! AND IM ALRIGHT WITH CARS...
