EF airbox lid/EL piping

I picked up an EF lid, knowing they flow better, but how the hell do i get the EL piping onto it? Or do I need EF piping?

Re: EF airbox lid/EL piping

The EL piping should just fit straight on. If it doesnt you might need to cut a bit where it joins the lid, but I'm 98% sure it'll just bolt straight on there.

Re: EF airbox lid/EL piping

no it's not true ... I got an EF and upgraded to the EL piping as i hate the big EF one covering the engine and getting hot from the exhaust side. I kept my EF box but the bit of plastic going into it from the EL was about half inch smaller, i had to use the top of the EL airbox. I don't know if it's I'm loosing power tho.

Re: EF airbox lid/EL piping

Well that's great, the EF airbox flows the best but the EF piping flows the worst. Hmmm how silly, I'm sure I can figure something out though.

Re: EF airbox lid/EL piping

is there a EL style "thingo" that will fit the mouth of the EF top air box?

Please let me know as the EL top of the airbox is really small but it don't have the long snout inside as the EF has, the EF has a snout about 10cm long and it narrows to a stupidly small opening while the EL top airbox don't have that snout... has anyone looked?

Re: EF airbox lid/EL piping

I think the EF box must flow better due to the cone inside the air box lid speeding air flow up. It's pretty narrow at the end so I can't see the extra size at the opening being the reason for better flow.

I'll try put a bit of PVC pipe inbetween the EL piping and EF box opening and test it with EF lid and EL lid come dyno day.
