ef engine into xflow corty?

ive read other post talking about putting an ed engine into an xd... apparently this is streight forward.... would it be pretty much the same difference putting an ef engine into a 250 mk111 corty?

Re: ef engine into xflow corty?

do a search under my user name...

I have seen a web page somewhere with the Ed XR6 motor into corty.

I put an EF engine and T5 into XE fairmont ghia. Correct me if i'm wrong but i think i was about the second person to attempt it (the first being Jason Ghiller). There's not much info out there. Lots of trial and error for you!

*possible* custom engine mount (bonnet clearance???)
custom sump
firewall recessed
radiator support mods
thermo fans (no clearance for clutch fan)
ditch the serpentine belt (no p/s or a/c) and change to EA-ED type balancer and idler pulleys
electrical issues (too numerous to list)
choice of gearbox
brake upgrade necessary

The list goes on....
