If i was to have pacemaker extractors fitted on my EF Fairmont alone without a new catylic convertor/muffler/resonator, just straight into the standard pipe, what would be a reasonable price and would i be looking at much difference in performance or economy with or without a sports exhaust?

You really need the cat back to take advantage of the extractors.

no cat will give you a bit more top end, but you will loose a bit of bottom end. Not worth the sacrifice when you consider how often you use that top nd. The other thing is, (and this is what i've heard so DON'T QUOTE ME everyone) I've heard that it's a $10,000 fine for removing a cat of your car if it was fitted with it by the manufacturer. I guess they take air pollution seriously these days.
