Hi, I have a 93 EB series 2, and i got my hands on a EL intake manifold the other day, just waiting on a few more parts then i should be installing in soon, just wondering whether the EF/EL ECU fits the plug on my existing EB harness, or do i have to replace it with a EL engine bay harness?
Can you give me a part no. to a ECU which is suitable, and how much is a reasonable price to pay 2nd hand from a wrecker. And is the MAP sensor on the EB different to the EL one, should that be replaced to?
Yep EL. You'll need Smartlock as well; serII ought to have that.
I can e-mail you a pinout comparison sheet if you like, there's a few wires need adding. Primarily the BBM valve signal wire, but it also covers fan control wires, etc. as well. Also the power steering wire needs to be moved.
The MAP is the same EA-EL. I'm actually running my original EBI MAP sensor still. The car's had a variety of engines, computers, and intakes in it and has had no problems with the MAP.

The car is has a smartlock module, and is a auto. Will a manual EL ECU work or do i need one for a auto? and with the manual ECU's for the XR's are they limited to 180km/h like the Gli ECU's?
EL ecu with catch code 6DBD or 6DBB will work in an EB2, plug out / plug in.
You will need to re set the base timing etc...
Also the Power / Econ switch will be reversed in operation, so will the light.
Error codes will appear for SSPS, Evap Sensor and Fans, but will not cause any operational issues.
