EL I6 Massive loss in power and i dont kno why

Its not my car its my old but i drive it so i sorta see it as my problem

A few months ago i blew the bottom heater hose and replaiced it. Biggest problem was after i had replaced it the thing wouldnt start. So we got a mobile mechanic out and he found the problem quick smart and they were all common porblems on the EL heres a list of what needed to be done

Ignition coil replacement (old one had 3 cracks in it)
Distributer replacement (had 4 cracks in it)
leads and plugs replacement
sensor map replacement
fuel injector service

after all that i had to also replace the fuel filter which i did the next day

After we had all this done the thing lost all its balls it sputters on take off and sounds as if its about to stall it wont do standstills unluss u hop the brakes and even then nothing like it used too and it has no real power until it hits 3500+rpm range.

I havent got a clue whats wrong ive played with the idle to see if thats the problem but there was no change if any1 has a clue what it could b please tell us cuz i want the old powerful ford back. Seriously my dads 92 model barina has more balls now and that things lost a piston ring.

If iot's worth anything to you my EB blew a hose/belt and even though I caught it I did a compression test and found three pots at 100 or less. It lost all its balls and now needs to be revved harder, however because of the low comps in some cylinders it vibrates BAD above 3500. It idles roughly and off the starting line it hesitates and couldn't spin the wheels even in the wet. Answer - it needs a new donk.

Have you done a compression test?

Yeah I'm deciding whether to attack just the head gasket or do the whole donk. I can't tell whether it's just the head gasket although I have low comp in cylinders 2, 5, 6. Normally if it's just head gasket you see probs in 5, 6 only.

Decisions........

Nah i thought about doing a compression test but the thing is i dont have the tester so it makes it very difficult not to mention i dont have any real automotive tools that i can use apart from a few spanners and a ratchet.

Is there anyone that lives in the Altonaish area in melb who'd b able to help us fiddle with the car mayb teach me a few things along the way. Dont get me wrong i kno a fair bit about cars after doing a Pre apprenticeship but i dont kno any real performance tricks.

basically if u live on the western side of melbourne can we meet up? Cuz im really in a spot here. we cant afford a mechanic and we dont have the tools to do the job nor the money to buy them.

I have a fair amount of know how but someone with more kno how and tools whod be willing to teach me a few things would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help guys u blokes r tops.

P.S. Sorry if i repeated myself a little i do that a bit when i type

It probably has no relation, but you mentioned that it has no real power until after you hit 3500+ RPM. Im thinking there could be a prob in the intake runners. the ELs have a dual intake runner, sucking air off a long runner at low revs, and at 3500RPM, the valve opens to that it sucks through a shorter runner.

Probably got nothing to do with your prob, but i thought id mention it...

It amazing what you can learn when you buy the $200 ford factory service manual that the ford dealers use ;D

Thought I'd add an experience. My parent's EA had the same problems and just had the head gasket done and head fixed up. Car runs way better now so that might be the trick.
