Hey all i have this rattle coming from my engine! Its been doing it for a while now, just noticable if starting in front of car, but lately it seems to be getting louder. I can notice it in the car now, and seems to get a tiny bit louder when the revs rise.
The sound seems to be like a metal vibrating on another piece, but its fairly quiet, but enough to make me wonder what it is.
The noise seems to be coming from the front of the engine, under the rocker cover.
The most likely cause will be a broken timing chain guide, I'd suggest removing the rocker cover and inspecting the plastic guides, while you are there check to see how much slack is in the chain itself. Other than that it could be a lifter, idler pulley, its really something you have to search for with a screwdriver to your ear

take the rocker cover off, then at the very front you will see the timing chain, there are 2 grey plastic guides, that tension/direct the chain, look down (although i think you can only see one)
The rubber gasket is re-useable and so are the bolts
I paid around $110 for a full kit - guides, chain, tensioner etc
Not extremely hard to fit, Buy yourself a workshop manual or do a search on here, quite a few threads on it
