I would like to know if a 1998 EL GLI 4.0 5-speed manual sedan would be speed limited in any form?

If its a one piece propshaft I expect it would be , one easy way to find out .

Damn well that sucks! At least now i don't have to find out on the test drive . I read about it on another site with ford specs, but i was hoping it was a mistake . Should still go alright being a manual i guess, i will probably live longer too . I did read you could put a cop ecu in it, but probably hard to come by for a manual.
Does anyone know if the ecu limits speed in each gear as well? Im thinking it would probably work off engine rpm right?

nah it works off kmh, cos my car hits it at different revs in 4th and 5th but always at 180kmh

The reason for it limiting at 180 is to do with the driveshaft
with the shafts being thin wall and a relatively low diff ratio eg 3.27 or 3.45 at 180 k it is spinning that fast that any faster and there is a potential risk of the driveshaft flying to pieces which at that speed would be like a grenade going off in the trans tunnel
