Electric oil pump

Anyone know where you might be able to get an external electric oil pump to suit an XF Ghia?

Re: Electric oil pump

I think you'll find that they are still in the development & testing faze.

Engineered Machined Products is in the process of developing advanced electric oil and fuel pumps designed to increase engine life while decreasing energy draw. This pump will operate independent of engine speed through the use of rugged brushless motors. The compact size and new design of this oil pump will result in a more efficient, resourceful engine. The oil pumps can help extend engine life by lubricating prior to start-up, increasing oil flow while at hot idle, and balancing the oil flow in running conditions. Development is underway to incorporate this pump into many different applications
There are secondary units available.

The heart of the company’s Intelligent Lubrication™ system is a secondary electric oil-boost pump, which meets peak oil demands at low engine speeds and supplements a downsized, conventional engine-driven oil pump. The conventional pump can be sized to meet the “linear” needs of the lubrication system that increase in proportion to engine speed. This smaller unit offers greater potential for standardization across an engine family
