I have the distinct feeling an engine mount has gone.

It started with bad blurbly kinda idle, then when you sit at the lights it feels like the whole car is shuddering. Then the squeaking starts (you know, the E series ex taxi kinda squeak from the suspension - and new springs and shocks and bushes etc were done at the beginning of the year). Last time I drove it, it felt like the whole car was moving from side to side.

Does this sound like engine mounts to any of you???

If so, of COURSE this happens 3.2 months after my second hand engine (with 3 month warranty) was installed! lmfao

AND of COURSE it happens in the lead up to Xmas, when mechanics are overbooked... then they go on friggin holidays for a few weeks.

GODDAMN! Just shoot me now!

The other ways to check are if the engine physically moves when given a rev in neutral with the bonnet open, or if it clunks badly when put into drive or reverse from neutral/park. My Laser has this problem and it pisses me off to hell, but I have been driving it around like that for as long as I've had it...

Sounds like the engine mounts, i had teh same thing with mine.

Even if it aint it cant hurt to replace them, after all they are getting on 15years old!

I think i payed like 30bucks for them.
