Well ive done it!!! thought id never get through it hehe.
It started first go,ran smooth,no smoke belching out. Took it for a run seems to go ok. Still seems slugish compared to me mums eb mpfi.I had the gearbox serviced before i did the conversion but for some reason it seems to just drop to nuetral when in drive sometimes????? It leaked a bit of gearbox oil after the run. I also have a heat problem.Dad says the clutch fan is fuxxord.(it has a grating sound). Also dad said it could be slugish cause the exhaust is shot.(holes in the pipe everywhere and the muffler is a sive).

At least its not leaking water or fuel and runs good. It has been an experience but now i know what to look for i reckon i could do it again in 1/6 the time. I am now goin to chuck some thermos in,swap a few of the daggy looking injectors, get gearbox bloke to come fix it and then do full service.

good stuff. Do you find it has heaps more power over the Cfi? what did the converision cost all up?

well it revs easier than cfi. I have taken it for little run but i dont feel much of a change.I have to fix the temp prob and gearbox before i can really tell.All up bout $450-$500 cause i had to get another loom and few other things plus places here are bit dear (caboolture)

thats good to hear

just as a precaution i would get the injectors profesionally (sp? too early and uti) cleaned and make sure its all running well


you know the clutch fan is dead when your car sounds like its engine is a big fan ie very viscous fan noise engine (sorta like a ufo also)

this is probabily a stupid question, but why didn't you just do a complete BBM conversion, it couldn't have cost that much extra...

i didnt do bbm conversion because i only found one wrecker that had one but it was missing some parts and was all corroded looking from being wet all the time.
