Hi, ive just bought an EA with a few things that need touching up.
One of them is the handbrake cable which is frayed. SO im thinking, since im goin to be replacing teh handbrake cable, why not go to the trouble of adapting a handbrake lever out of another car so that its mounted next to the trans tunnel like theyre supposed to be instead of teh ridiculous position Ford put it in. The person who thought of putting it there should be fired for gods sake!
Any ideas on which car to grab it off and am i dreaming?

I looked at this a few years back, im pretty sure you have to get it engineered.
I have seen it done in an ED, all they did was cut the floor aout of an EF and weld it in, then used the EF stuff.
Also had to use the EF center console.

Im hoping i can find someone who dosnet really know their Fords/ does dodgy RWC when i go to get it regoed. I need to grab some other stuff from a parts car so i guess it wont be a big prob.
Does EF onwards have a floor mounted handbrake?

in nsw I don't need an engineers certificate to get the pink slip, heaps of places ask for them, and then say 'we can do it for you, it will be this much', but just told them to shut up and were wrong, and taking my buisness else were to a mechanic that doesn't try to rip me off.........
