g tech times

i have been playin around with a mates g tech.had a couple of craks at it .got 7.21sec to 60mph with a 15.89 quarter at 92.8mph and then got 7.25 to 60mph with a 15.45 quarter at 96.7 mph .
how accurate do you reckon these things are ?
getting unichip fitted tuseday so will be interesting to see the difference

Accurate 96.7 mph should see you in the mid to high 14's at least.

What's your ride??

A single spinner would be a disadvantage off the line, but a high 14 would still definately be on the cards if the MPH is accurate.

Cheers,
Simon

Re: g tech times

from the mods i would have said you would get mid 14's.

Thes gtech are very accurate but the way they measure means lots of indeterminate variables come in to play that means it can't really compare to a qtr mile on a track. same road same time same temp pre and post mod should still be valuable to measure but the mph TS and qtr ET don't seem to line up.

Re: g tech times

yeh a 14 somethin would be lovely.i was just using it to get some before and after times once i get the chip fitted .
as for the mph, thats why i wanted to know how accurate the gtech is .
i thought 15.45 sounded about right cause i wasnt realy goin for it .but the 96.7 mph sounded a bit high ,i was actualy in 4th for abit before i ended the qauter so who knows .
i'll see what happens when i test her again on the weekend .
catch ya jake

A chip should give you some extra horsepower but the drivability is where you will feel the difference. Your pick up low down (torque) should increase and when tuned correctly it will give you better fuel economy when cruising. Your JMM cam will also start working the way it should rather than being held back by the standard ECU. The tuning parameters will be far more advanced with the chip......just make sure the person who tunes your ride is expierenced and uses their Dyno until the results are at the perfect level......believe me, the guys who are absolute magicians at this are well worth the dollars in the long term!!

All the best,
Simon

eek Re: g tech times

got the chip put in today (by c and j performance) and all i can say is wow
it made about 149 rwk or so without the chip so maybe the mph thing was pretty accurate.but now its pullin 159.2 rwk can't wait to take it out and give it a bit of stick .it was way to busy on the way home stuck in peak hour traffic .you can definatley feel it pullin harder down low.
its been tunned to run on woollworths premium unleaded.
catch ya jake
