On the weekend while checking the oil/water and just going over the engine in general I decided to look at my gas injector ring- it appears to be about 55mm ID and has a 12mm wide nozzle in it. The area around It all seems to have a 65mm Dia around it, so it appears the ring is impeding air flow.

Next weekend I am putting a new engine in it, I will be doing this at my mate's old man's hydraulic service centre, and while it is off I could probably machine it down on the lathe probably so the ID is about 60mm(ring thickness would be about 2.5-5mm, would this be worthwhile?

The new engine has increased compression and headwork done to it, I may also be installing a cam and some headers to go with it.

The ring is that size to create a venturin effect, this creates a minor vacume in the gas suply line from the converter, this slight signal(vacume) moves a diaphram controling gas flow in the convetter, I DONT recomend u doing this ... as u could cause the car to run extreemly lean on gas as there isnt enuf venturi effec through the gas ring, and as a result not enfuf gas will be supplied

Thank's I thought there may have been a reason for it. Thanks for the heads up. might have to look at getting a gas-research carbie later down the track.
