how do you get rid of the service spaner on a 96 NF Fairlane Gia? can anyone help me ?

.....when your car is in the "reds" (the turn of the key before it kicks over). Ten seconds or so should do it.

Hold trip button in, turn igntion to on, but do not start, wait it and it will dissapear, switch ignition off then start car, no more spanner.

Using a large mallet & a punch carefully smash a neat hole first in the plastic then use the punch to break the bulb behind the spanner light.......

hold down for 13seconds ... it will make a beep noise when successfull

While ignition is off, press and hold odometer reset button.
Turn ignition to on.
Hold odomter reset button until you hear a beep or the wrench disappears.

These are not my instructions and I have not tried this, just something I found on the web and saved for future use (if I ever needed it). Hope it works.

1. My car does not have the spanner icon, so I do not have a use for those instructions.
