groaning when launching

what could be making a groaning sound when you let the clutch out in 1st as you take off from the lights, I think it is coming from the front of the engine , Could it be power steering as someone has suggested to me - any other ideas

Re: groaning when launching

Dont use WD40 or the pullies, if it gets on the belts it will degredate them, and on the bearings it can wash the lubricant out of them.

Re: groaning when launching

LOL Useless, There allways has to be a smartass in the crowd

I will check mounts etc etc but it really sounds like some sort of pully sound, not a high pitched squeal though just a low groan

Re: groaning when launching

All Fixed (Touch Wood), flushed the power steering fluid and changed it for a synthetic fluid (same as gearbox) -Castrol Transmax Z

Re: groaning when launching

The groaning is the Holden driver next to you as he can only see the terrific looking rear (the car mate, the car).
